It is 2011 already, and it has been a long time since I blog. In the past, I thought blogging might be a good way to improve my English. LOL! So many things happened, and this post will be very long. Readers will have to be patient and slowly spent their time reading this long post.
25 Feb 2011 - 7 Mar 2011: travelled to Rome (aka the eternal city) & Portugal with a small group of church friends, where we had a good time experiencing the freezing cold weather. I wore gloves and my thick feather jacket the whole day. The night was extremely cold, and one night the temperature was -6 deg Celsius. Beautiful tears were shed as I had a great experience which I will never forget. My parents' money were not gone to waste.
4-7 April 2011: NYP SIDM Orientation 2011. I will never forget this orientation because everyday there will at least be a talk. I tried my best not to sleep during the talks. My group (group 13 - HOT STUFF!) won the 2nd prize (ie GV tickets) for the monumental rush poster/video design. Number 13 will never let me down as this number was my index number when I was in secondary 1. In secondary 1, I was very determined to work very hard and managed to achieve a bursary. I love my class as I get to compete with the top few students in my class. I don't know why I found it interesting and fun competing with them although I will never surpass them.
4 April 2011: SJC Concert Band SYF Day. Instead of attending the 1st day of orientation, I wished I was at the SCH to support them. I missed my junior very much. After the Ipoh/Perak Exchange (16-19 December 2010), I bonded with them a lot. I hope they will never forget my speech. I was the oldest amongst them and was honoured to be part of the chosen ones to perform on stage. That was my final performance although I officially graduated from school! Anderson Military Band (AMB) was there to represent Singapore, and my school was combined with the Malaysian Bands. Our band had a good exchange with the Ave Maria Convent Band (AMC Band). The bus guide was fantastic as he was a catholic and taught us new stuff (duh!).
Despite getting bronze for the competition, I knew they gave their very best. I also achieved bronze when I first participated SYF because I freaked out and left the playing to my senior. She played solo for the whole song (set piece - Sunrise & Safari) without breaking down. I only dare to play the second song (choice piece - Digital Prisms). The second time I participated in this competition was in secondary 4. This time, the band achieved silver. We were filled with tears of joy when they announced the results. The set piece was 'Overture no. 1' and the choice piece was 'the light of dawn'. I am very thankful to have such wonderful conductors. Mr Yea was in charge of the drills, he taught us a lot during the band camp. Mr Tan was in charge of our playing, he taught us how it should be played correctly. Although Mr Tan was replaced by Mrs Goh, I feel that Mrs Goh have that motherly love. I saw her teaching my juniors patiently.
18 April 2011: 1st day of NYP life. I was overjoyed when I managed to get into the 1st choice of my course - Diploma in Digital Entertainment Technology (Games) in NYP. I chose NYP for my first few choices as it is the closest to my house. My class is small, 2 girls (including me) and the rest were guys. First lesson was Math1, my "speciality" when I was in secondary school. During maths lesson in secondary 4 & 5, my friends (Mee Ling & Kai Ting) and I would usually ignore the teacher's teaching since we took 'O' level Maths in sec 4, and would be retaking it again. We were called the '(big-time attitude) Queens'. LOL, I will never forget this. I worked very hard (with my tutor) and finally achieved an A2. I am not like my sister who can easily score this mark. Although I passed my AMath, I am very disappointed with my result as I practised the wrong topics (ie Integration/differentiation) for the wrong paper.

6 June, Sunday - I went to my grandma place in AMK to eat dinner, and watched "the Incredibles" on channel 5. One of my mother's sisters baked a chocolate cake to celebrate my brithday. She used white chocolate to write "Germaine birthday" on the cake. She gave us some of the cake to bring back home and eat.
7 June, Monday - Couldn't sleep well as I tossed and turned.
8 June, Tuesday - I left the house at 7.30am and my father brought me to the English Seminar at NTUC Centre in Marina Boulevard. I wore home clothes and brought a jacket as my parents told me that the auditorium would be cold. Both speakers were from England and they were good. There was a 10 minutes break before the next part of the seminar begins. The second speaker has a sense of humour and he was good at acting. My friends (Xin Yen, Joycelin, Joanna, Alvina) and I went to eat at Pizza Hut in Plaza Singapura, and all of us ordered student meal. I went back home after eating as I had tuition. I was so tired that the tutor said that we would cancel the lesson.

Finally, I am one year older! You can say that I managed to survived for that number of years. It kind of make sense right?!
The night before, I slept at 4am as I was watching Bleach movie. Toushiro Hitsugaya is so cool and hot when he uses his power. Around 12am, my friends started to write on my facebook wall wishing me. It was very fun. LOL!
I woke up at 11.20am and watched Bakugan Battle Brawlers as usual before going for band camp as Adeline had asked me to help out in the obstacle courses. They did not have enough people for the stations and therefore asked the alumni to help. I was in a hurry that I had forgotten to bring my waterbottle and did not eat anything. After the juniors had drills, the seniors started to play water games and I was talking on the phone with my mum. I saw Siew Kim, fell down on her butt and she had some problems getting up on her feet. Xin Rong and Adeline realised that I was very dry and they started to hug me, using me as their towel. Adeline told everybody that I was very dry and Samantha used a bucket of water to splash at me. Only my body was wet, and my hair was still dry. We went back to the band room and we felt cold as we were wet. We helped ourselves to the glowsticks by taking a number of them from the container. Before we headed home, we (alumnae) took a few pictures with the glow sticks.
For my snacks, I ate Shrooms burger and curry puff which my mother bought from KFC and Old Chang Kee. My family went out to Changi Airport Terminal 2 and ate at Crystal Jade Restaurant as Sakae Sushi was very crowded and the queue was very long. The standard dropped a lot as the chrysanthemum tea was not sweet at all and one of the dishes was very salty.
My mother bought a mint cake from Polar before we headed back home. Aunty Janice sang me a birthday song in cantonese over the phone and I felt very happy for that moment. My family sang a birthday song to me before I made a wish and cut the cake. The base of the cake was biscuit and therefore it was very difficult to cut. Since the cake was mint, it tasted like toothpaste and therefore no need to brush teeth. JUST KIDDING!

Bio remedial started at 10.30am sharp. When I reached the lab a few minutes before 10.30am, I though I was late as Mrs Lim and a few of my classmates were already inside. Alvina gave me my birthday present after I sat down. The remedial ended a little bit earlier at 12.20pm, as it was actually meant to be a 2-hour remedial. Alvina and I were the last to leave the lab as my friend needed to copy some words from me. Mrs Lim asked us to help her by carrying the TYS books to the staff room. Actually, I intended to go for band camp but I changed my mind.
After we left the school, we took bus 136 to heartland mall and had our lunch at pizza hut. We ordered the same student meal which total cost is $16.24. After we ate, we went to the 3rd level toilet to change as the 1st level toilet was smelly and the 2nd level toilet was closed as the clearners were washing. My attire made me look like I was a tourist carrying a backpack. LOL! We went to SuperBowl and played pool there. It was kind of hot in there, and I was perspiring. We played 2 games only as we felt very pek chek while playing. I did not know how to start and I asked Alvina to start first. The funniest part is when I hit the white ball out of the table and it rolled on the floor, heading towards the kitchen. LOL! After we left the place, we were discussing about the other people who were also playing. Alvina then told me that the way I play was quite scary as the ball might jump very high and hit people.
Before we took a train back, I topped up $10 to my EZ-link card. I bought Honeydew Milktea from SweetTalk, outside Hougang Mall and drank it while I was walking home. When I reached home, the air-con was switched on and I saw my sister and brother has just started making rock cookies. My sis asked me why I was home early and did not go for band camp. I told her that it is optional for me to attend and I might go band camp tomorrow. She advised me to stay at home instead of going to school and celebrate as they might give me "facial service" using the cake. In the end, my sister and I did the baking as my brother went back to his room to play his MapleStory.
At 8pm, I went to church as there was a briefing for all pilgrims. It ended at 9.30pm and I reached home around 11pm as my mum has something to discuss with the priest. Claire's skin was red and she looked like a cooked lobster/crab. She went to Sentosa beach with her friends and got a sunburn as the sun was scourching hot on that day.
